We have put specific measures in place to ensure the safety of our Guests and the Plumbago Family at all times. On a daily basis, we are working to ensure that we meet the latest guidelines on hygiene and cleaning protocols.
Symptoms & report procedure
We are prepared to take care of anyone that may be showing any COVID-19 symptoms.
The necessary procedures will be followed according to official guidelines.
Staff and Training
We will facilitate staff living on-site during your stay. All staff will receive ongoing training and support within their respective roles. All staff will wear appropriate PPE and sanitise on a regular basis. Our staff have been homeschooled with regards to the nature and severity of COVID -19 and thus to ensure the safety of EVERYONE.
Signage displayed
Signs with relevant information are displayed at specific points on the property to educate and inform guests about the health and safety protocols of the property during C19.
PPE (Personal protective equipment)
The use of PPE is compulsory at Plumbago !! Please wear your Face mask or Face shields and gloves at all times out and about. The Plumbago Family will follow protocol at all times. Before entering your room please either remove your shoes, place them in the plastic bag provided outside or wear your shoe covers while inside the room.
Cleaning procedures of rooms and facilities
We use cleaning products and protocols which are effective against viruses in all areas of the property. Sanitizers are provided in all rooms and throughout the guest house in strategic locations. Rooms and bathrooms will have non-essential items and soft furnishings reduced in order to meet our cleaning and sanitising requirements. Guests are encouraged to please bring their own toiletries (soap, shampoo etc), we will be able to provide certain items on request. Please note that rooms will no longer be serviced daily. Rooms will be cleaned every 2nd day and linen changed every 3rd day- to reduce the possibility of contamination. All rooms will be deep-cleaned after each check-out.
Check-in Procedure / Arrival - Departure
Guests temperature will be taken on arrival and any guest with a temperature above 37.5C will be asked to return to their vehicle immediately. Protocols will be followed accordingly. No visitors will be allowed. All guests will be required to complete a medical and travel declaration form for track and trace purposes we ask for you to please be patient with this process. All guests are required to please wear their own masks at all times. To minimise the risk of contact, we request that payments are made via EFT or CC card details are provided to us before arrival to process the payment.
Food and Dining
We have Indoor and Outdoor dining areas that have adequate space and comply with the distancing requirements, guests are asked to eat on their veranda or at the appropriate dining areas allocated should meals be provided in-house. Please do not eat in your room if possible – this includes take – away items.
The main breakfast buffet will not be served. A breakfast picnic pack will be available to take along to the Kruger and surrounds, this can also be enjoyed in the garden or at your table. A simple home-cooked meal can be provided for the evening – by prior arrangement no less than 24 hours in advance. Allergies and food preferences are to be noted when booking the accommodation. Dinners are served Monday – Saturday.
Non- essential items like table cloths, flower pots etc will be removed from the dining area and tables in order to meet the cleansing and sanitising requirements. Tables will only be cleared once the Guest has finished eating and left the table. We have adapted our dining facilities and protocol to promote social distancing and minimise human contact.
Our Laundry
We have chosen to make use of our in-house laundry facilities. Protocols are in place to ensure the efficient and correct methods are followed on each departure.
